Blades of Camelot and the Savior Messiah

Blades of Camelot and the Savior Messiah is the name of an upcoming "special standalone chapter" of Beyond Light and Shadow by geminmyeyes (that's me!). It serves the same purpouse as a lot of the Yo-Kai Watch movies in having a (mostly) standalone story with new elements and characters that can't be quite contained within the main story. It's planned to be "about twice or thrice the length of a normal chapter" with two versions, an Ao3 version, as well as a special HTML version hosted on here. Ao3 being better for those who wants to have something easier on the eyes, Neocities version being the one that holds nothing back with all sorts of crazy CSS and HTML tricks.

Plot

The Faerie (European Yokai), Puss in Boots, seeks to duel one of Europe's greatest kings of legend and myth, the great King Arthur! But first, he has to find a sword capable of granting wishes without any strings attached, fabled to be somewhere within France. Our favorite group of detectives end up getting wrapped up alongside the faerie feline's adventure, being purused by the Knights of Camelot all the while. Europe's greatest Watcher also gets involved, seeking the power of the holy blade's wishing power as well. Who will have their wishes heard?

Trivia

  • Originally, Fairies were meant to have more of an involved role in the main plot, but where reduced to more of a minor role "more suited for a side story" given the uncomfortable implications of having a bunch of European based yokai take away from the main focus on the key yokai of Beyond Light and Shadow (who are based on Hindu myth and legend).
  • Keeping with the theme of Beyond Light and Shadow, part of the chapter's title stems from a Janne Da Arc Song, in this case Messiah, sometimes refered to as Savior - Messiah (there are no offical uploads on youtube this sucks. sorry for the crusty facebook anime amv.)
    • Concidentially, Messiah is a song based on Janne Da Arc's namesake, Joan of Arc (inspired by Shin Devilman according to band members, but the song Messiah is about the real historical figure).
